ORYX Desert Salt is a premium brand dedicated to producing the finest, sun-dried, unrefined salt, harvested from the heart of the Kalahari Desert. Their products, such as Braai BBQ Salt and Desert Salt & Black Pepper, reflect the purity and richness of the region, providing gourmet ingredients for those who seek natural, high-quality seasoning options.
The Brief
Our brief was to create an animation and brand film that would highlight the purity, craftsmanship, and sustainability of ORYX Desert Salt’s premium products. The goal was to visually showcase their iconic ceramic salt grinder, with a particular focus on its design, alongside the versatile culinary applications of their Braai BBQ Salt and Desert Salt & Black Pepper.
Our Inspiration
For ORYX Desert Salt, we took a dual approach: first, a detailed 3D animation of their ceramic salt grinder, which served as a powerful visual tool to showcase both the product and the process behind its creation. Our team focused on lifelike textures, cinematic lighting, and dynamic camera movements to create a visually engaging experience. Secondly, the brand film captured ORYX’s dedication to quality and sustainability, focusing on the natural beauty of their salt and its perfect pairing with culinary creations. The film and animation both aimed to convey the premium quality and unique story behind ORYX’s offerings, aligning with the brand’s values.
The Deliverables
We produced one 3D animation and one brand film for ORYX Desert Salt. The animation featured the ceramic salt grinder, showcasing the product through cinematic shots and lifelike textures, rendered in 4K. The brand film highlighted ORYX’s premium salt products, focusing on their purity, mineral-rich composition, and role in enhancing the culinary experience. Both assets were designed to tell ORYX’s story of sustainability, quality, and gourmet excellence in a visually compelling manner.
